I'm not qualified to comment on your form, but . . . nice rack . . . squat rack . . .

Where'd you get it? If you don't mind my asking. (I get to get one, and something like that would fit the bill nicely . . . )

Thanks. Its my brother's, about 12 years old and was in storage before I rescued it from the cobwebs and dust bunnies. Free is hard to beat. I don't know if I'd buy it if I were to buy my own, but it does the job (it has caught of few of my failed PR squat attempts with no problems). Also has a pullup bar built in as one of the top crossbraces (too low for kipping but good for jumping pullups or weighted deadhangs). Its simple, nothing fancy. I might look for one that has some plate holders built into it. It also isn't made to be bolted down which really it should be. Its a decent price though. Its made by body solid. The only really annoying thing is that I'm always switching the pins from the inside when I squat in the cage to the outside for when I press or whatever.

I think this is it:

Thanks for the response

Yeah, I'm looking hard on craigslist. I was just vacillating between that cage type and plain racks and think I'm settled on the cage, so long as it fits in the garage . . .

inexpensive cages also tend to be kind of small. i used to have one just like that and i hated squatting in it. it may sound crazy but i feel claustrophobic in those small cages. i always racked the weight on the outside. i think the way to go is to buy squat stands and then buy the spotter racks. also, if you squat with rubber bumpers you can always dump the weight and it wont matter. of course bumpers are thicker and once you can only pile so much weight on the bar.

JR...You are crazy man. I've never felt claustrophobic in my cage. Then again I haven't trained for years in a really nice facility like you have, so I don't have the same reference point. TP I think if budget is at all an issue, go with squat stands. I just ordered the Promaxima squat stands and they were $195 plus shipping. Hard to beat that.

OOooooo! Double poster! Hahaha...

TP, Why you checkin' out his rack?

JR, I agree with you on the rack stand issue. I prefer having the arm attachments. Although I know the bar moves vertically, I'm always kinda worried about hitting the rear bars during squats.

Jose, Squats look good. You're staying more upright and still getting the depth. Are you posting this as a PR for the 5 or is that the heaviest you've done? Either way, good work bro, looks like your SS (with GOMAD action) is paying off.

PS- My ass is going to fall off from those 50 pistols for time.

It hurts to sit on the toilet seat.

Its a PR for heaviest set of 5 I've ever done.

I'm glad to hear the pistols destroyed you. They were supposed to. Its punishment for not coming up here to workout. You are now forgiven.

Gotcha, I just wanted to be clear between your 1rm and 5rm... I thought you had 1rm'd more before.

And I'm still being punished apparently.
